Taith Dros Gymru Virtual Challenge. 531 Miles, 18 units, over 365 days

To celebrate World Kidney Day 2021 on Thursday 11th March, race organisers of the Cardiff 10K Kidney Wales are launching a virtual challenge which we would love for you to join! 

The Taith Dros Gymru / Journey Across Wales is a 531 mile Run, Cycle or walk virtually visiting all 18 dialysis units across Wales. That is 1.5 miles or 5,000 steps a day across the year and you will have succeeded and completed the challenge.

The challenge will begin on World Kidney Day 11 March 2021 and will end 11 March 2020.

The cost is £20 per person to enter, all participants will receive a Kidney Wales face covering and a bespoke Type Dros Gymru medal to celebrate your incredible achievement of completing the challenge.

This is an almighty challenge, If you feel you are able to gain support from friends and family as you take on the challenge please consider collecting donations on behalf of Kidney Wales throughout your virtual journey. Every penny raised will help continue the vital work of the charity in supporting the Kidney community throughout the pandemic and beyond.


Why 531 miles?

531 equates to the distance between each of the 18 dialysis units across Wales. The goal of this challenge for you to walk, run or cycle virtually visiting each unit on route.

Alltwen, Ysbyty Gwynedd, Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Mold, Wrexham Maelor, Welshpool, Llandrindod Wells, Merthyr Tydfil, Pontypool, Newport, Cardiff North (Pentwyn), University Hospital of Wales Cardiff, Cardiff South, Llantrisant, Morriston, Glangwili, Haverfordwest, Aberystwyth.
