Organisers of the Cardiff 10k and 2k family run, are calling for runners from across Wales to sign up for the first places that have been made available for the 2014 event, set to take place on September 7th, 2014.
Coinciding with the launch of a brand new race website (www.cardiff10k.com), registrations have opened earlier than ever before for the 2014 event, with a limited edition running shirt being made available for the first runners who sign up for the race.
The new website has been designed with the user experience in mind and makes registration and fundraising much easier. Runners can set their fundraising page up through the website and even check out all the photos and race times from last year’s event.
The race is open to runners of all abilities and you can run as an individual, or with friends and colleagues by entering in to the Corporate Team Challenge; which was won by the South Wales Fire Service in 2013. The 2013 race was the biggest Cardiff 10k yet with an amazing 3,995 runners taking part in the 10k race and the 2k family race.
Roy J. Thomas, Race Organiser said “2013 was our biggest race yet and we wish to encourage registrations earlier than ever before. Many of us set a resolution to get fit in the New Year and this race is the perfect incentive. In addition, if you sign up now, the first 250 will get an exclusive limited edition Cardiff 10k running shirt.”
The Cardiff 10k is one of the UK’s fastest road races; it starts and finishes at Cardiff’s iconic King Edward VII Avenue at the heart of the Civic Centre. It takes in the historic Bute Park and Castle Grounds situated at the centre of the Welsh Capital.
The race supports not only the Kidney Wales Foundation, but also lists Diabetes Cymru, Tenovus, Llamau, 2Wish upon a star amongst the many charity partners benefitting from the race.
