The race organising team at Kidney Wales are proud to announce a brand new partnership with Princes Gate as the official water supplier for the 2020 Cardiff Metropolitan University Cardiff 10K and 2K Fun run.

With the Cardiff Met Cardiff 10K celebrating its 35th year, we are excited to develop this collaboration, with both parties sharing the same ethos and values and commitment to sustainability.

Princes Gate Natural Mineral Water has been drawn from the Preseli Mountains where it has been filtered by mineral rich rock for 15 years.  The team at Princes Gate take their environmental responsibilities very seriously and put sustainability at the forefront of the business. The company are incredibly pro-active when it comes to recycling with the factory implementing a closed loop system to ensure everything that can be recycled, is recycled.

Princes Gate bottles are all blown on site to ensure that their 51% recycled bottles produce the lowest possible carbon footprint they can. In addition to that the bottles themselves are 100% recyclable, right down to the bottle cap and label so throw it all in that recycling bin!

Thanks to their closed loop system Princes Gate has been accredited as a zero to landfill company for over 5 years and achieved the Green Dragon Award for sustainability since 2013.

Director of Kidney Wales Nic Clarke comments on the partnership ‘For 2020 we are working hard to reduce the impact of our race on the environment.  We are excited to be working with the team at Princes Gate who will help implement this through the supply of smaller 330ml bottles at the water station, and recyclable points available on race day’.

A big thank you to Princes Gate for coming on board, we are excited to see this partnership blossom across the preparations for the race in September.
